Paralegal Specialist (Mortgage) - Troy, MI
Job Summary:
Agility 360 is sourcing for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join our client's legal team. The job duties include assisting attorneys in preparing legal documents, conducting research, and managing cases efficiently. The ideal candidate should have experience with Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, Evictions, Collections and Litigation fields.
Must also possess knowledge with filing court cases, preparing judgments and writs, E-filing, and have the ability to work a file from inception thru litigation process. Including but not limited to, preparing pleadings, summons & complaints, objections, motions.
Duties:
- Assist attorneys with case preparation and management
- Conduct legal research using various tools such as Westlaw
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Transcribe dictations and prepare summaries
- Manage legal case calendars and deadlines
- Communicate professionally with clients and court personnel
- Utilize iManage or similar software for document management
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proven experience working as a Paralegal in a law firm or legal department
- Proficiency in Legal case management and Legal administrative tasks
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with Legal research methods and resources
- Ability to draft legal documents accurately
- Knowledge of legal software such as iManage is a plus
- Excellent phone etiquette for client communication
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires all forms of dexterity/mobility which may include extended periods of sitting/standing. May occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, twist, climb or balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to speak and hear, lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds (25 lbs.) or occasionally more.
- May be required to drive for business purposes and must hold a valid driver’s license in good standing and maintain personal auto insurance in compliance with local or state requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, occasionally noisy, or distracting environment.
Job Details:
- Permanent role with Law Firm client based out of Michigan/Pennsylvania
- On-site in Troy, MI
- Pay rate based on experience
