Job Duties
- Responsible for examining loan documentations for accuracy and completeness while working with loan originator or production staff to secure all required documents
- Manage underwriter quality and productivity
- Manage and provide daily support for second signatures and declination resubmission
- Coordinate with risk for any necessary responses to QC, QA, or Agency quality responses
- Identify red flags within files and ensure each red flag is addressed prior to approval/closing
- Maintain minimum file requirements as well as condition turn-times as set forth by management
- Maintain communication with brokers/processors/account executives to ensure all questions are answered in a timely manner
- Review conditions (including suspense, reworks and decline overturns) within the required turn times
Need to have a thorough understanding and experience in:
- Experience with underwriting to multiple lender guidelines and requirements
- Knowledge of Fannie Mae/DU and Freddie Mac guidelines and automated underwriting systems
- Critically examine credit, income and asset documents and review title policy and appraisals
- MUST HAVE DE or VA LAPP/SAR UNDERWRITING EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience
- College Degree Preferred
